THANK YOU, MICHAEL ODOM!

I love this little 3-pager. I know you guys kind of run hot and cold on the smaller, lighter stories, but I love them both because they provide a breather and because they’re always a chance for me to experiment a little. Whether it’s to try my hand at a twisted version of the meet-cute, or do a story with only female leads, or do something that plays right into what’s going on in the Valhalla stories, these 2- and 3-pagers are good writing exercises and great fun.

Thanks so much to Michael Odom of Holiday Wars for braving the “samey” script for The Death of Mr. Crook. I don’t know if anyone else noticed, but despite the static background over three pages, Michael didn’t cut-and-paste even once. My artist friends out there know how big a deal that is. Above and beyond, my friends. Above and beyond.

THE ANNOTATED “THE DEATH OF MR. CROOK” PG. 3

Many of you probably already guessed, but you can draw a straight line from the end of this SFO to the beginning of this one.

NEXT IN SUPERFOGEYS ORIGINS…

The Thrice Evil with art by Steve Ogden! This one has been in the works for a looooong time and anyone who knows Steve’s work over on Moon Town knows that we’re in for QUITE the treat. It has been absolutely worth the wait. You’re gonna see a whole new side of Steve’s art that I’ll bet a lot of you didn’t think he had in him. I know I was shocked! That’s next Tuesday.

STILL ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS FOR GUEST STRIPPIN’ XMAS…

I haven’t received any submissions for this year’s Guest Strippin’ Xmas, which is unusual but does not have me worried. I typically get a lot of entries right before the deadline, which is Dec. 21st. Full details and specs here.

See you on Thursday with the big, BIG SuperFogeys 287. I don’t want to overhype it…but it might knock your socks off.
