WELCOME TO SUPERFOGEYS ORIGINS, CHRIS WATKINS!

I have nothing but good things to say about my collaboration with Chris Watkins. Not only has he been a dream to work with, but the storytelling choices he makes and the very defined, cartoony spin he puts on things leaves me a bit jealous. And those colors! Chris’s work really pops and I think you’re gonna dig seeing more of it over the next nine weeks.

Those of you who have been reading Odori Park already know how great Chris is and his work in SFO shows how versatile he is as well. You’re gonna see stuff in the coming pages that you wouldn’t have guessed Chris capable of. I know he really threw me for a loop.

Glad to have you, Chris!

MY CO-HOSTING GIG ON DIGITAL STRIPS

I recently did a guest co-hosting spot to help out my buddy Jason Sigler (who you may remember as the artist from this SFO story) over at the Digital Strips podcast. We spent the first half of the program talking about SuperFogeys and I shared some new insight on how I went about planning the big Jerry reveal and everything that led up to it. In the second half, we review Pixar animator Bob Scott’s fantastic webcomic, Molly and the Bear. I don’t often review webcomics because I tend to be a little too honest, but Molly and the Bear is one of the good ones…not that I didn’t have my problems with it. Give it a listen and you’ll see.

See you on Thursday with SuperFogeys 294!
