Swifty origin continues with AMAZING art from T.L. Collins. I’m gonna have to show you guys the full version of past speedsters. T.L. did some great design work. How are you guys liking the origin so far? What questions are you hoping are answered?
See you next week with Pg. 3 “The Prophecy!”
My favorite part is the colors. I didn’t expect warm, oil paint-esque work for that, and it is a *fun* touch for making things feel historical. What am I hoping is answered? Well, everything!
I know! T.L. really stepped it up with his colors on this one. What you’ve noticed is entirely purposeful on his part and I think it fits the story so, so well. Glad you like it!
Wow. That’s a big family tree! 62 gens of speedsters. That’s like 3000 years!
It’s crazy! But I suppose if they all had the same superpower it becomes easier to keep track of :/
Good job on the math! You actually reverse-engineered how I came up with 62 generations in the first place.
Wait so 3000/62 = 48
So everyone was 48 years old on average when they had a kid?
Okay, so I misremembered the math a little. I think I was going for 2000-2500 years.
Now I wonder if any of Swifty’s ancestors were involved in Superteams of the past ?
I think that stands to reason… but I wouldn’t count on that being explored as part of our story, or as part of Origins.
I like his father’s costume. Does resemble those of the golden age of the comics. Is his name a shot at Howard Stark?
Probably more of a shot at Howard Hughes, but I daresay Howard Stark is, too. It’s a circle. Time is a flat circle.
Where do I remember the dad’s name from…

So did Money Man know / do business with Jones Sr because that makes sense.
And I dig the “Jerry Bad” reference.
Always fantastic when the deep cuts get noticed!
Who’s the beefcake at the end, in Jay Garrick’s helmet?
That’s Howard Jones–Swifty’s father.
