ANNOUNCEMENT! SuperFogeys returns Monday, June 4 with the Origin of Swifty! Mark your calendars!

What did you guys think? A bit of a breather chapter, as far as these things go. Not a whole lot of fighting or action, mostly just characters talking to characters. Honestly, these are my favorite chapters to read and to write. The only problem is that at this point we’ve got so many characters I never quite have enough time to give a spotlight to all of them.
But, whatever on all that. Jerry is off to the multiverse! To do… well, who knows? I await your thoughts.
NEXT: THE ORIGIN OF SWIFTY
Normally, we go on extended hiatus after the completion of a chapter, but what do you say we do something different this time? T.L. Collins is hard at work on the Swifty Origin RIGHT NOW (3 pages in the can so far)! As soon as we feel confident enough in our buffer, we’ll start posting the story once a week. The origin is slated to run for 15 pages, so… 15 weeks! Gonna be a fun Summer with an Origin you guys have been asking for almost since day one.
AND AFTER THAT… CHAPTER 23!
I’ve been threatening it for years… but I’m finally gonna do it. I’m going to come back to SuperFogeys for full art duties for one chapter only, Chapter 23. This will be a short chapter, taking us right to SuperFogeys #800. Now, this may be a bit of bad news for those of you who believe, as I do, that this comic only reached true artistic heights once Marc took over the art chores, but it’s something I really want to do before we close the book completely on SuperFogeys. My one last hurrah.
Of course, this means plans need to be changed a bit. For those of you following along at home, SuperFogeys was only supposed to run 25 chapters total. With the addition of this new short chapter, however, it will now run 26 chapters. So… more SuperFogeys in your future than there was before, not less. That’s a good thing, right?
As for what this Chapter 23 will be called and what it will be about… I’m still working through that. I know what the last image of the chapter is (and it’s INSANE), and I know, roughly, which neglected characters I’d like to throw a spotlight on, but I don’t have a title or even a lot of specifics. It’s a long ways off yet (gotta get that Swifty origin out there first), so there’s time for these things, but my goal is to make it something special that maaaaaaybe hearkens back to the early days of the strip. I dunno. We’ll see.

Looks like someone is going to cause a Crisis level event in the near future. Also nice to see your artwork returning for one last time in this series. Great way to go out.
I can’t wait to see how Swifty’s origin turns out as I can almost tell it isn’t a great origin given his overall attitude towards his life. There has to be some bright spots in it, right ?
I… suppose you could say there are some bright spots in Swifty’s origin… but yeah, we’re gonna fully explain why he is the way he is, so you know it’s not gonna be all sunshine and roses.
I like how the worlds are categorized alfabetically, very convenient 😀 Or do they just all start with A? hmmm… Anyway, got a bit behind but just caught up… This chapter has been a pure joyride, I loved every little bit of character development, and the remark “… is it because he’s sorry, is that ALL I’m missing?” really caught how far gone Jerry is, that line packed a punch! Great writing, great art and wow am I psyched for the next hapter 😮

Well, great mindblow you have caused there. I wasn’t that off track on Monday, but having access to multiple realities is insane. The possibilities are endless. Although I could see something like the interdimensional council of reeds, but with Jerry, I have the gut feeling that we will see the guntheir (or however is written) involved in some kind of multi dimensional genocide. From here I think either Jerry try to become the only Jerry on all dimensions (one Jerry to rule them all) or he will search for that world in which he did got the girl.
Either way, congrats to both of you. As always, it is a real pleasure to read you. And here I will be reading for as long as this ride goes on 🙂
Yeah, this really can go anywhere at this point. Some great theories floating around, but you’ll have to wait a bit for even a hint of what Jerry is up to. Thanks for the kudos and thanks for being someone we can always count on. You help keep us going!

In all seriousness, this is by far my favorite current superhero comic.
“Do you want to know how I got these stairs…?” 🙂 I don’t know if you’re familiar, but in 1980s stories (maybe 1970s too) Marvel comics had a “crossroads between worlds” that was an infinite number of roads hanging in…nothing, with an infinite number and variety of doors at the end of each road. There was even a signpost tree in the middle of the crossroads. I don’t think there was ever any explanation given, and I’ve always loved that place.
You know, in a certain way any explanation might just take away from the cosmic epicness of it all.
Yeah… I think the less said about what we’re all seeing here the better… and you’ll get a much better idea of where this is all going at the end of the next chapter…
