Hey, we’ve all been there, right? You’re a megalomaniacal, insecure villain in love with the greatest super spy of all time, you see her flirting with the transdimensional alternate version of the guy your true love has been making goo-goo eyes at, you walk in on that big, burly President of the Alternate-U.-S.-of-A. giving your wifey wife life advice, you see them touch hands… and you just lose it. And then you see that Alt. Prez’s Alt. Wife just sitting there. You missed her, somehow. No big deal, right? Simple mistake.
Face it, we’re all Jerry. Totally relatable dude.
See you on Monday with 750 – The Big Slap!
Someone just stepped in it.
In what? In WHAT!??!?
Oh! Oh! I think I know who Matt is supposed to inspire in the ’60s!
Bad Jerry! Bad dog!
Only the sixties will ever know…
(Nah, you’ll find out what Gina sent Mega Matt back for… eventually.)
Oh, Jerry, why?
So, the next comic will be called “The Big Slap!,” eh? Doesn’t matter how big that slap is. It won’t be big enough for Jerry.
Not a Jerry fan! So sad. He is the secret hero, y’know. He’s just a misunderstood megalomaniac.
I don’t hate Jerry, I just really dislike it when someone does the big, embarrassing scolding without getting all the facts. You can’t accuse, judge, and execute all in the same step and expect it to be fair.
That’s true… but it is a very human reaction. We constantly think we have all the facts (especially when what we think is happening feeds into our fears), even though we almost never do.
Well, that must be the most awkward walk in comic history, running into all the bad moments and snapping in the worst way. And they all have to deal with it because Jerry is the hope for 2 dimensions. Yay
That’s the spirit! Jerry is everything! He’s a peach, even. He’s all peaches!
They really should be so nice to him.
“Jerry is the hope for 2 dimensions.”
Thank god we live in a three dimensional world.
Ha!
Wow this is quite the outburst, and it surprised me a lot. But it made me sift through the “marital strife” strips in the archive, and on second thought I shouldn’t have been so surprised. I guess it’s striking to see the flip from “I did it all because I have obsessive love for you because you’re so perfect” to the attempt to degrade her and shame her for merely speaking to another man. I’ll need to do some more archive diving later because I forget what events have bridged us from chapter 17 to here.
If Spy Gal wasn’t Spy Gal, I’d be seriously worried and hoping for an intervention to remove her from an abusive relationship. I think (hope) she knows what she’s doing so I’m not so worried, but hopefully it doesn’t come at too high a cost.
Archive diving can be important in situations like this. I think Jerry’s disposition is fairly easy to track, but Spy Gal hasn’t been as revealing about where she’s at with him. I think a lot of her state of mind can be inferred, but probably only with a closer reading. Don’t be surprised if she gets a little more explicit with her thoughts soon….
