Writing–and seeing–two different Soviet Sams is a lot of fun. They are basically completely different characters. Also a lot of fun is General Will vs. Captain Spectacular. One man with all the power who struggles to be the hero, the other with none of the power who takes his heroing seriously.
Next week: Spy Gal makes an important decision about Dark Maiden.
I love Swifty. There is a lot to be said of Vanessa’s and General Will’s relationship in the two panels here, it’ll be interesting to see more.
Also, Atomic Fly can’t be dead! How can we have an Atomic Fly and Avalon Atomic Fly meet up if Avalon Atomic Fly is dead! Nooooo!
Can you think of a greater tragedy than Atomic Fly dying? I cannot.
Rumi, I fear that Atomic Fly IS dead. Avalon, anyway. Fly’s not a very developed character yet, but he IS becoming a Mega Matt-stregth prescence (R.I.P., my funky brother!), one which I think really wouldn’t have been added to by having, well… a copy of himself running around.
Oddly enough, I’m rooting for CS II to be alive. He’s a content lackey on our Earth, a proud hero on Earth-Avalon, Cap’s successor, and other than he’s fond of cappucinos, what else do we know about him? Nada! I think the whole “evil twin universe” thing might give us may finally give us some insight into the goofy-haired enigma. I hope!
You’re thinking like a writer. While there’s a lot of comedic possibility inherent in two Atomic Flies, One is enough for this story.
You will discover the fate of CSII in this very chapter.
Swifty is one again the funniest character, and he kind of has a point there.
Indeed. He does.
