Gotta be honest with you, guys. I don’t have it in me for much of a post tonight. This unemployment thing is emotionally draining. I’m barely eating and just seem to be nervous a lot. I know things will get better, but right now I’m kind of living in the muck of it all.
Apologies to Marc. His artwork today deserves a heaping paragraph of praises.
Really hope you get out of this awful issue really soon. Best luck to you and your family Brock
Ok now Im REALLY curious as to who mommy dearest is… other than an apparant time manipulator…
Why do I get a bad feeling about this. š
Is that the parallel universe machine that Zurida built in our universe? (I forget what it was called.)
It was “The Guthrie”. http://superfogeys.com/2013/11/18/549-zuridas-visitors/
Now that you mention it, I wonder what happened to it or the Power Crystal.
No problem, you should take care of yourself and family first. If you need to take a break from the comic, do it. Later, if the comic and your fans can be a source of inspiration to keep you going, let it. I really love the work you and Marc do and would hate to see the comic become more of a burden than work of love and joy.
I’ve been job hunting since January so I’ll share what I’ve learned. I’m also in a position where I’ve been able to turn down a few job offers so I know what I’m doing is useful. Pay attention to any listlerves you’re on for job postings, ask your contacts for job leads, and don’t be afraid to ask for letters of recommendation or permission to drop their name in a cover letter or as a reference.
Comic Comments: OMG! Hanging out with Thrice Evil and assisting to change the FABRIC OF TIME is described as ‘a rebellious streak’, Star Matron indeed.
Marc’s art is awesome as usual, I really enjoyed Swifty’s pose in Monday’s strip, panel two. His pose and “Sure” really was the look of someone whose totally smitten with Star Matron. I bet she could offer him chocolate covered scorpions and he’d think it was delightful. Also the last panel with Gina and Portalmaker is really precious. I can only imagine how hurt Portalmaker was when Gina took off with Thrice Evil.
Today, I cannot think of a more bad ass bike than the one Thrice has. It looks like it was designed to mow down pedestrians willy nilly and would be right at home on the set of Mad Max… you know, if they had hover bikes in Mad Max.
Hang in there, Brock!
Rule number one is not to let it take you down, even if it’s hard.
I would like to tell something rich and motivating, but I believe I said all I can say on my last post.
Keep your head up, buddy.
Hang in there, Brock. Been there myself. Three things I learned (though it’s frequently difficult to keep them in mind):
1. It’s not a reflection on you, just a business decision.
2. Unemployment sucks, that’s just the way it is.
3. That said, it’s also not the end of the world. Many things are way worse.
Family should always be first priority. And because you show that your family is your first priority, I think respect is the key word here. I do respect what you do and hopefully you can handle your situation and get back to your feet.
But respect, that’s the word.
Hi Brock. I’m so sorry for your struggles! Do you have your resume somewhere? Maybe we fans can check our contacts to see who’s hiring? What do you want to do, and where do you want to work?
Wish I could offer more than just words of support, but I’ve faith you’ll be fine in the end.
