The Crimson Spelunker has been mostly a background character, but he’s a great design and I always look forward to finding new opportunities to use him. Marc designed a terrific vehicle for him with that driller.
Some of you had some questions about Jerry’s escape in the previous strip and the nature of his powers. I hope you’ve had a chance to check out the comments section to see my responses and clarifications. You don’t need to know this kind of detail to enjoy SF, but I think it’s always nice to know an author has thought through the little nigglers.
Monday: it’s One Year Later with… Dr. Rocket!
Space monkeys are more a mass assault force than a search and recover team.
True story.
Well, whaddya know…I *was* partially right.
You got one!
As was I… lol. And yes, Brock, Protocol is protocol. Hey – it worked!
You gotta go with what works.
Sweet, escaping through the windmill. Now they are milling about where Jerry went. *grin*
Nice. Unintended pun on our parts for sure. Intentional connection-finding on yours. Well done.
One of the things I enjoy about this strip most is the collection of background characters that you’ve gradually moved to the forefront. Our beloved Soviet Sam started out as one one and look at him now. You did a great job with Suckface in just a few strips and I’m excited to see more of them move to center stage. Crimson Spelunker is a great design, I’ve noticed him before and I want a pair of his glasses. Regarding Jerry’s powers I was just curios as to why he didn’t open one under himself like here http://superfogeys.com/2012/03/12/394-the-bottom-drops-out/. Glad to hear we’ll see Dr Rocket soon. Speaking of characters we haven’t seen in a while, whatever happened to Nurse Carter?
Nurse Carter… we saw her at the beginning of the previous chapter. Since then? Not at all. I don’t promise we’ll be seeing her again soon, but you never know.
As for why Jerry didn’t use his powers in the way you suggest… see my response to a comment under the previous about his powers. It’s not as cut and dry as just opening a hole. Jerry has to consider where his doorways will lead and that is only ever to “the other side.”
