Welcome to the most accurate and boringly named SuperFogeys strip yet! Who says we don’t do pulse-pounding around here?
I hope you all have seen the Guardians of the Galaxy Trailer by now. Hoo-boy. I’ve read the run on which this movie is based and while I think the comics fall into the “just okay” category, I am super pumped for this movie. Looks like the right mix of comedy and action and Ooga Chaka. I can’t give them my money fast enough.
Tomorrow: look for another blog showcasing some art development Marc did for One Year Later and my notes. Which would you rather see–a new character or details on the Jerry redesign?Ā
So I guess Jerry and Spy Gal made up?
That is the proper conclusion to draw from this strip and 564.
That’s embarrassing…totally missed it!
I’m wondering where Cap is in all this. Does Zurida still have him and Dr. Rocket?
You’ll find out very, very soon.
So now Spy Gal uses Jerry and has feelings for Soviet Sam? Actually I like that….
That’s certainly one possibility.
I just like how much happens in this strip. (And for some reason I really like that button in Jerry’s jacket but can’t take seriously his boots)
It clearly shows what’s Jerry’s current position in very, ahem, economic way.
The boots are the same boots Jerry’s always worn, just muddier.
I choose to read your liking “how much happens in this strip” as sarcasm. Because Jerry picked a flower.
A flower.
Is that the blue flower from Batman Begins? Please tell me that’s the blue flower from Batman Begins. Because it’s already cemented in my imagination that if you were to pan over a few feet, Bruce Wayne would be there too.
I’m gonna say yes. I very much had Batman Begins on the brain as I wrote this strip. Consider it a little homage. Don’t know if Marc was thinking the same thing, but making it a blue flower was in my script.
I hope he is not going to blow up the Netherlands – that would be bad for the future value of my house. Funny to see the white landscape, we haven’t had any significant snow at all this winter. Only some in the northeastern provinces.
Sweet! A reader from the actual Netherlands. Welcome, TuuronTour!
Technically, this whole story takes place around 2009/2010 since SF started in 2007 and has not been moving in real time. So… maybe it was snowier then?
Yep, considerable more snow that winter. Thanks for the welcome – I’ve discovered this comic thanks to “Crossoverkill” at DrunkDuck and kept reading. Great art and story!
I miss/don’t miss Jerry ‘s ultra inappropriate belt buckle. I hope Spygal has given him some style tips, like all good women do for their men.
The belt buckle!
I miss the belt buckle.
I doubt that was setting a detonator timer, since it’s around his wrist. A countdown, of course, but not a bomb timer.
Step 1: Pick flower that reminds you of your wife.
Step 2: Open shielding around Pilatian Power Crystal for a moment.
Step 3: Set timer for when you expect Zurida’s goons to show up, having detected the momentary burst of energy.
Step 4: PROFIT!
But then, I don’t predict this comic anymore…
Some of that actually isn’t too far off from what’s happening!
Don’t toy with me, Heasley. š That’s sort of like telling a kid “you know that bike you’ve wanted since forever…?”
We all know he won’t profit from it, so Step 4 is pure fantasy. š
[…] about how everything goes back to Jerry. How right they are. He may disappear for a chapter on some crazy, worldwide scavenger hunt, but still he lurks. He underlines everything in this story. It’s always been that way and it […]
