And boom, like that, old favorites returning, new characters showing up for the first time. This is perhaps the motliest of crews, but together they are enough to strike fear in the heart of even someone as vile and powerful as Suckface. Marc, once again, stepped up in a big way with some great new designs and new characters.
From L-R: Space Pig, Hazmarty, Atomic Fly, Mega Matt, Captain Emo, The Terrible Leslie, Raptor X, Carnation Belle, Li’l Shorty, Dictator Tot, Madgestick, Violent Violet.
Those of you with long memories may recall that Violent Violet is one of my designs, first revealed right here.
On Wednesday: We pull the curtain back in a big way on this new world. You don’t want to miss this one.
Congratulations on the Captain Emo appearance! Um – the destruction of American society has done WONDERS for Carnation Belle. Looking forward to seeing the others soon.
Mass Destruction–the weight loss plan GUARANTEED to keep you in shape!
It’s Mega Matt, yo, and these other people! (The glasses dude in the background leaves me a bit curious, of course, but come on, Meta Matt!)
The “glasses dude” is The Terrible Leslie! I’ll be trickling out blogs over the next little while with character sketches and details, so you’ll find out more about him soon. (The Terrible Leslie is truly terrible, believe me.)
Wait… Atomic Fly isn’t actually flying, he’s stuck to the ceiling of … what? The sky?
He must have the same abilities as Spider-man’s (animated) webs: they stick were no building could be.
Atomic Fly does fly… just mostly upside down. But when he wants to rest, yes, there is ALWAYS something off panel for him to latch onto.
Something tells me the attack on Tangerine forces his sons to step up.
Also, Dictator Tot and her sister joins in, makes me wonder why Spy Girl recruited them after what happen last time ?
Plus, the return of the Space pig and Atomic Fly.
Nice Calvery so far, but it make me wonder who else joined the resistance ?
Spy Gal is a mother at heart. Even given what a little snot Dictator Tot is, I don’t see her turning away a child. The other question is… why did Dictator Tot and Violent Violet join up?
I bet Dictator Tot joined out of a “nobody rules the world but me” attitude 😀 Also, I love the guy (skull) in the hazmat-suit, have we seen him before?
I like this Dictator Tot theory.
We have never seen Hazmarty before. He’s a Marc Lapierre original (I came up with some of the back story) and he was created, I think, last week. (Lest you think we work with a buffer…)
“Rar” Best battle cry ever.
Agreed. I know I’m scared.
@Marcus: Dictator Tot listens to The Third Man. Jerry is The Third Man. Hence, Dictator Tot now works for Spy Gal.
Also Atomic Fly is still my new favorite super-hero. Although Hazmarty is pretty cool! Quick note: I assume that the hazmat suit is to protect everyone else from Hazmarty’s toxic element, not to keep him alive?
Also an awesome Dictator Tot theory, Scott.
You are correct about Hazmarty. The suit contains him but has no life-preserving function.
I created a similar character awhile ago for a slightly more serious storyline than Super Temps, so it immediately came to my attention. The way I drew the character made a friend assume that the mask was to support the character’s life, but it was the other way around, and the idea of an enemy damaging the mask only to realize “Oh crap, hitting that was bad” is amusing. I imagine that while it could be used against him, Hazmarty is actually a pretty serious threat considering “Dude, you wreck his suit and you are DEAD. Don’t shoot at him”
Heck YEAH Dictator Tot and Violent Violet!
You are enthusiastic about the right things.
OH SO COOL!!!
Love the action poses and to top it all off M.M. is pressent and accounted for!
Also my favs Dictator Tot and Violent Voilet.
See above.
That’s a helluva rogue’s gallery!
I’d blink. Or close my mouth, as the case may be.
Yes! The return of Dictator Tot! Meander was certainly right about Carnation Belle. Also, Angry Space Pig. I don’t think we’ve ever seen him that way before. Everyone loves Atomic Fly, but it’s nice to see Raptor X as well. He never gets as much love as Atomic Fly. Also, is that a doll on Dictator Tot’s Big Wheel, or a tiny little lady? I’m guessing tiny little lady.
Angry Space Pig is indeed a rarity. Raptor X is the steady, stalwart Fogey. He will never get the praise, but he doesn’t need it. He rejects your praise.
The little Lady on Dictator Tot’s Big Wheel is Li’l Shorty.
Huh, hadn’t even noticed her 🙂 Reading the comments pays off!
What? Reject my praise?! That’s it, Raptor X, nemesis declared! My vengeance will be forthcoming. I have a rather full load of nemeses right now, but I can probably fit him in about eight months from now between the cat lady on the 2nd floor and the young man who tripped me with his bicycle when I got of the train today. I still have to find something they love to destroy, so . . . Nine months, ten at the most.
Loony people are more fun. Raptor X is too serious.
hazmarty looks a bit like the vashden arada spacesuit people from bbc’s doctor who to me
I’m glad you listed them out. For half a beat, I had thought that Carnation Belle was Star Maiden restored. Still I’m surprised to see the tots on the ‘good guy’ team.
Love the new team. I also like seeing Carnation Belle and Raptor X fit and ready for action. So some absences here make me guess about some other characters. I remember you saying something about it on your interview, so I think that Tangerine is retired, but in the USZ, tired of all the killing and fighting and just trying to get peace. Also I think that The Thrice Evil is also fit and fighting but for the other side. I guess being slaved by Dr. Klein is good motivation to get back to action. I also want to know the whereabouts of Miss Missile, neither sides seems to fit her.
[…] Shorty is a character who was mentioned a long, long time ago but was never seen until the jump to One Year Later. I gave Marc a name and that was pretty much it. He came up with the look and the majority of the […]
