It’s the small SF 550! The milestone that isn’t!
Do you feel it though? Pieces… pieces moving into place. Marc once again did a stellar job fitting a lot of characters into a small space. I’m always so grateful he’s on my team.
What’s going on behind the scenes right now? (aka why are you guys so quiet lately?) The next chapter of SF requires some serious prep work. You’ll find out why when it actually hits, but suffice it say that big things are brewing. No, bigger.Ā
No, BIGGER.
OH wow the last panel…gave me goosebumps!
The power of silence.
This plan will not end well and it may make things worse for everyone involve, if the Captain catches on real quick. š
Pessimism! I like it.
Who is the guy behind Tangerine on the first panel? Just another shady character that wants to keeps his anonymity for now?
That would be Captain Emo, Tangerine’s son. You can tell by his skin color and Van Dyke.
Captain Emo is a really lively person, despite his attire and the death of his brother and his mother.
One would think it would be he who was resentful towards his father.
He is not an Emo, if aything he is just…. a part-time melancholic poet!
That sounds about right! I don’t know why emo has to mean sad. To me, it just means you really feel things.
Suckers! Hit the switch, Zurida! There needs to be a switch, nothing says “MAD Science!” like a contact switch. It will also be interesting to see if Dr Rocket lived up to his end of the bargain or made any other modifications like “kill every alien except Zurida and Percy”. We know he’s got the creepy geriatric super villain hots for Zurida and after foiling her plans he could always say, “Well, at least I spared your spawn,” to try and smooth things over. It’s hard to say with Zurida. She’s such a complex gal. On one hand she’d be furious over having her plans foiled, but a devious betrayal like that might actually earn him some points with her.
Dang. Yes, we need a contact switch. I can’t recall right now if we put one in or not.
I can’t help but think that no matter what happens, none of the majors players in this story arc are going to be happy with the results. It’s going to all blow up in everyone’s faces and there’s little anyone can do about it. Even if Tangarine kills Zurida, Dark Maiden/Star Maiden is still too powerful/insane to be easily rid of. Then there’s also no telling how Percy will react… and that’s just with some of the known threats! The Captain and the other Fogeys have their work cut out for them.
You’re right–there’s lots of variables at work, lots of competing agendas. If you look at the past history of chapter endings… there’s only been one where everybody was happy.
Bonus points if you can remember which one that was.
Geez, I tried looking through and most of the chapters have at least one person who’s absolutely miserable. Might be Bubbles of Light, but that’s a stretch.
That or maybe Bingo Night.
I can see where you’d say both of those, Jordan, but I think the actual answer is Chapter 12 – “Jackpot.”
Even the Captain was totally okay with winning a pile of money over a new wife. (And few wouldn’t!)
[…] 17 – Invasion, Pt. 4: The End of Lies The important thing to remember with this one is that the heroes are all standing by watching this whole exchange go down. This is where webcomics can get a little frustrating because […]
