I confess the speculation last week’s strip inspired caught me unawares. It didn’t even occur to me that Zurida’s words in the last panel might be construed to mean that she was suggesting another mastermind behind everything. Obviously, that’s not exactly the case. Of course, there IS another mastermind lurking somewhere and we’ll meet him eventually… but not just yet.
Big thanks to Marc for pulling some overtime and getting this one out as a double. We could have split it pretty easily, but I just felt like the information you get here needs to be done all in one go to really be effective. Great work, Marc!
If you’re completely lost, Zurida is talking about Captain Spectacular’s conversation with Money Man a few weeks back, and you can check out the pertinent parts starting right here.Ā
Huh, what did Jerry say ?
And how can Jerry feel this way after all the trouble he caused just to marry Spy Girl. š
Jerry is a complicated dude. I this his origin bears that out ,but we’re also coming up on the moment when he’s gonna have to face some tough questions.
and then the cat said “You would have to be mad or you wouldn’t have come here.”
Now Jerry will realize all of the chaos and evil he has done as he will soon go mad. (or not accept it, but still go mad.)
Jerry is certainly headed for a moment, that’s all I’ll say.
Zurida has hope. She hopes to destroy the coming evil and rule the planet.
Too true!
Zurida seems like she’s growing a little tired of jerry’s flip flopping of sides….TURN him to ASH zurida!!!! LOL
Aw. Is there no love for Jerry? He’s just trying to do the right thing…
I love Jerry. But less after I found out he was the 3rd Man. But more again recently.
Okay wait…wasn’t he trying to distroy the Captain not to long ago. Talk about your split personality. Gesh this guy is just really screwed up in the head or what?
I think you’d be hard pressed to find any evidence that Jerry has ever intended to “destroy” Captain Spectacular, but you will find plenty to the contrary.
Jerry’s about to either get seriously told off or have his neck snapped, either way, I look forward to the next strip. I’ve said it before, Jerry justifies everything he does with the delusional belief that what he’s doing is for the best. I don’t in his warped perception of reality that he ever viewed CS as his enemy. Only as a friend who was in the way. Otherwise he would have tried to kill him instead of dragging him out of his hovel, bringing him to Valhalla and healing his legs. The only person Jerry has ever demonstrated a real hatred for is Swifty. You have to really despise someone to do something as casually cruel as he did in strips 252 http://superfogeys.com/2010/04/15/252-like-a-son/ and 253 http://superfogeys.com/2010/04/22/253-destiny-screwed-over (A particularly brilliant bit of writing from Brock) If anyone knows evil, however, it’s Zurida and I look forward to her clearing up any misconceptions Jerry has.
Good memory, Andrew. The enmity between Jerry and Swifty is pretty longstanding, but you’re right–we haven’t really seen that vitriol directed towards anyone else… except maybe Tangerine.
