I was reminded this past week that not everyone shares the encyclopedic knowledge of SuperFogeys I have. That brain in the jar? That really is Star Maiden’s father, she’s not THAT crazy. This flashback is a bit of a sequel to both Star Maiden’s origin and the flashback that showed her trip home. If you’re curious, I think they’re pretty good reads.
Fun fact! The “idiot” in this strip is named General Makus. I don’t think his name has ever been said out loud, but our resident Philosopher General does have a name and that is it. Now you know!
Interesting , doesn’t this also explain Star’s dark change ? ;(
If you mean her reversion to the Dark Maiden persona, no. That happened in Chapter 12. If you mean her siding with the aliens for the invasion… yes, this is essentially showing that sequence of events. You’ll see more on Wednesday.
And knowing is half the battle! The other half is having Star Maiden wipe everyone in existence out for you…
Too true.
So any brain in a jar that can write on a bed sheet can trick Star Maiden into working for them. Good to know.
Don’t be too hasty. Wednesday’s strip might change your view of today’s.
So, just to clarify one point. If memory serves correct Pilatius was giving the crystal to the Space Pigs. Zurida obviously wants the crystal. Now we have Bezuel saying the crystal powers “our” fleet. Now, I don’t understand the exact physics behind the Pilatian Power Crystal, it could work like Nicholas Tesla’s idea for wireless electricity and beam energy all over the place to power all their ships. Still, I have trouble believing they’re all so willing to share. So my question is whether they’re all still separate empires – the Azurians, Space Pigs, Zurida’s Empire, Star Maiden’s people, ect – or have they merged?
Not one empire–separate empires with the same goal. As for the crystal powering the fleet… he’s lying. Dr. Rocket took the Crystal before there ever was a fleet.
