For strip 500, you should just have several panels of debris. Then mention in the blog post that it’s an important plot point.
I talk about debris a lot, don’t I? It’s probably because I always had a hard time drawing it.
But yes, I agree. The secret to SF should be in the debris. If you look closely, you’ll see the name of the big villain behind everything spelled out in dirt.
(No, not really.)
And they woke up and found it was all just a dream.
Come on – the big fight is destroying the heroes home and not the city. This can’t be real.
Ha!
One, were did Swifty go in the second pannel?
Two, how did she know Spy Gail was married to Jerry?
One, I think Swifty just got the heck of the way. He doesn’t use super speed very often, but he does still have it.
Two, it’s already been established that Zurida watches American television and we’ve seen that the Jerry/Spy Gal wedding was a big news story, so…
….okay that makes sense now.
Swifty is fast enough to get out of the way on his own. I hope CS gets to hang with his son(s) now that Zurida’s gone.
I would enjoy seeing that as well. It’s a twisted family tree, but I like to think about what they would have to talk about. I know what’s on Tom’s mind…
Oh, things are just falling apart at the seams all over for Jerry, aren’t they… 🙂
Sam, I think Zurida’s been monitoring events from space for a while. I can’t recall exactly, but I think that was either stated or alluded to in the earlier strips of this storyline.
Btw, Marc, nice touch adding the furniture falling through the hole. 🙂
Yeah, Chris, there’s a lot of ways Zurida could know about it. I’ll admit that I had to pause a minute to reason it out when I wrote the script for this strip, but I don’t think it’s much of a stretch. Which isn’t to say that I haven’t fallen victim to plotholes before!
Zurida, with her green skin and red lasers, is really helping me get in the Christmas spirit. Even the villains are celebrating! Everyone’s coming together at this special time of year…
Tyler, you brought a tear to my eye.
Shoot. I’m going to have to do these guess strips through out the year just to get them done in advance. The holiday season – heck, my whole life lately – is so busy, ha ha ha!
That’s too bad, Will. I mean, I’m so glad you have so much good stuff going on, but I’m bummed we didn’t get one from you!
I hate to nitpick such great work, but if Zurida zaps a hole into someone’s bedroom (as evidenced by the furniture falling) then how come when she sends Spy Girl flying though it she emerges outside by the pool?
I suppose could argue that between poolside and the basement is a floor of rooms, but I’ll let Marc chime in with the official explanation.
The hole Zurida blasted in the ceiling was to drop some debris on top of Jerry and distract Spy Gal. Zurida actually blasted Spy Gal out the hole Jerry was coming in from, a hole/ tunnel that leads to the pool area on the back side of Valhalla. For those of you keeping score at home, there are now four gaping holes in the detention level.
