Y’know, for a long time it probably looked like SuperFogeys was the story of Captain Spectacular and his friends and enemies. Then, I think for a little while anyway, it turned into Jerry’s story. Now, I think in what we’re really seeing is Spy Gal’s story. SuperFogeys started with Spy Gal coming to Valhalla as, essentially, a victim. Now, she’s running the place. The story isn’t nearly over yet, so… what next?
Don’t forget to stop by and say hi to Marc if you’re at NYCC this coming weekend! He’ll be doing sketches and have EXCLUSIVE posters on sale. Full details here!
Wow, way to be the bearer of bad news and tell Swifty, the smart-aleck speedster the truth to shut him up in the same strip. š
That has to be a new record in tems of drama in this strip for you.
It’s true. Swifty was SHUT DOWN today. The drama you’re seeing? That’s tension, ratcheting up.
I love Star Maiden in panel 3 – not angry or bitter. She looks like she’s remembering something from long ago.
I think you meant Spy Gal, but your point is understood. That’s a lovely take.
This has to be the best-written strip yet, with art to match.
Oh, I was always of the opinion it was Swifty’s story, but that he appeared to be a support player. I mean, all that appearing in different times…
I can see that perspective as well. Swifty is the thread that runs through everything. My point is that the story is constantly shifting, which I think is a good thing to have happen when you’re dealing with an ensemble. I hope it is.
Oh, and thanks for the kind words!
