I’ve probably said it before, but pacing doesn’t get enough attention as one of the big keys to comic-making. Bad pacing can ruin a comic and make it unintelligible. Marc had a great idea with this strip and added the beat in the second panel to what was originally scripted as a three panel strip. It makes a difference. It’s sort of indefinable, but the sense of space and time and even distance is more noticeable with the addition of just that one panel. It makes me happy when stuff like happens–and very glad I have a partner in Marc.
Looking for a good cause to support? My wife is trying to run in the Susan G. Komen race and raise money for Breast Cancer Research (her mother is a survivor). Her goal is $1000. Anything you can spare to help out is much appreciated by not only her, but the millions of women so afflicted throughout the world. If you have a moment and a few extra bucks, please click this link for the details. Thanks.
Hmm…there appears to be a rather large crack in the Washington Monument. No worries…Im sure it can be fixed with some ductape…
Aw snap! This is not going to end well. š
Oh man, that earthquake from over a year ago already left it closed. Now it will be another decade…
WOW i knew it was gonna go down…but i didn’t expect this! I kinda like this evil star maiden!
I think you may be the first person to say that. Shoulda’ had her beat up on the Society of Heroes a lot earlier.
It’s almost like my Pathfinder game, where the cleric thought he could reason with the cultists and got thrown into a buzzsaw.
I knew the earthquake was a cover up for a super hero incident!
while re-reading the series from the beginning (sorry brock you put TOOOOOO many clues in the early strips that are obvious once the new chapters are out lol!!!)
in strip 292 swifty tells himself of the incoming invasion with zurida…and this is when swifty found out that jerry was the third man…
could things be coming full circle?!?! CAN’T wait to find out!!! (spot on story telling!!! AND SPOT on art work!!! you and marc are in a top tier league!!!)
I’m so glad you’re doing that! The series has always been designed to be read multiple times, with the exact effect you’re experiencing now. And yes, I think it’s safe to say we are soon going to catch up with that moment. How soon? Wait and see…
Cowardice is so ugly. Especially when it leaves a singed silhouette on the concrete sidewalk.
C’mon, guys, cowboy up.
[…] (no one suggested that). He is, however, the renamed Captain Spectacular II and we last saw him right here. This was just before his team, the modern day Society of Heroes, died. An event he references. Now […]
