AT THE BALTIMORE COMIC-CON THIS WEEKEND

For you east coasters, I’ll be at the Baltimore Convention Center this weekend for the annual Comic Con.  I’ll be joined by SuperFogeys Origins artist T.L. Collins and the rest of the Th3rd World crew to launch the big book I’ve been talking about for months–SuperFogeys Volume 1!

I’ll have 30 copies of the book to sell ($20 a pop) at the Con on a first come, first serve basis. Also, as a bonus Con exclusive, you get a 5×8, original sketch of your favorite Fogey (or other denizen of the SF universe) FREE with the purchase of Vol. 1.

More important to me, however, is that I look forward to meeting those of you that will be stopping by the Th3rd World booth (Booth #1904–near the Top Cow and Image booths)! I’ve never been east of Utah, so I think this is a rare chance to meet some fans (and gain new ones, hopefully) that I would otherwise never get to see.  Hope to see you there!

WAIT, YOU MEAN SUPERFOGEYS VOL. 1 IS ABOUT TO START SHIPPING?

Yep. SF Vol. 1’s debut at the Baltimore Con means that those of that pre-ordered will start receiving your guaranteed copies in the next couple weeks. I’m so friggin’ excited. In case you forgot, here’s what you can look forward to:

  • The first five chapters of the SuperFogeys NEWLY EDITED by Brock Heasley for a smoother reading experience: Ch.1, “Insane Romance From Hell” Ch.2, “Bingo Night” Ch.3 “The Techno Shuffle” Ch.4 “Dictator Tot’s Revenge” Ch.5, “The Redemption of Dr. Rocket”
  • An updated, running COMMENTARY on each and every page of the book below the strips and stories. With some surprises!

  • The PREVIOUSLY UNPUBLISHED Untold Tale “The Secret Origin of the Space Pig” (Art by Daniel Woodhouse)

  • DESIGNED by Michael DeVito and Jon Conkling (The same team that designed the sold-out “Stuff of Legend”)
  • SKETCHES, UNSEEN ART, and MORE!
  • 105 pages!

Not going to Baltimore? If you’ve looking forward to this book but have been waiting to buy, now’s the time. This sucker is here and it can be yours. Remember that you can order either an Artist Edition (with an original sketch card featuring one of the Fogeys) for $24.99 or the Regular Edition(without the sketch card) for $19.99.

Check out the back cover:

Big thanks to those of you that order/have ordered! The rewards are few in the webcomic game, and I appreciate each and every person who gives up their hard-earned cash to give their support. The best part? You’re gonna get an awesome book out of the deal.

Even Swifty would have to agree that’s pretty much a win-win.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DICTATOR TOT!

I would be a lousy father if I didn’t take the time to wish Elora, my own little inspiration for Dictator Tot, a very happy birthday. She’s an amazing little girl who is growing up way, way too fast and is way, way too much like me. But, when she’s taking more after her mother, she’s the most kind, thoughtful, smartest little newly-7-year-old kid you’ve ever met.  I’ve also never seen a big sister have more patience and generosity with her little sister as she does, particularly when Cami cannot be the little sister Elora may have hoped for. Dictator Tot, aka Elora, is kind of a miracle.

So, of course, I made her a gun-toting super villain. Happy birthday, sweetheart!

THE ANNOTATED SuperFogeys 228

Star Maiden’s sordid webcam past was first brought to light here, and then discussed once again here.

NEXT WEEK:

On Tuesday Tom continues his story and we find out a little bit more about his dad. Then, on Thursday, Captain Spectacular has a visitor.  Hmm…you don’t think his visitor could be…?  Nah, that’s too much of a coincidence. Next thing you’re gonna tell me is that I plan these things.
