This is a mean, mean cliffhanger. I don’t know that it’s fair to end this chapte like this, but it really couldn’t end any other way. Thematically, the next chapter has to begin a few seconds after Dr. Rockets declaration of good news and bad news. I’m hoping it’ll make sense why I did it this way when it’s all read together.
Personally though, I kind of like cliffhangers.
It was just before the end of this chapter that people started to catch on to the stuttering. Dr. Rocket has actually been doing it for a while now, but I’ve increased it so incrementally that most people didn’t notice. The first stutter? Way back in Chapter 2, actually.
Some theories exist as to why he’s stuttering, but I’ll leave that for another commentary.
You’ve got a link issue with this section of the archives – if you incautiously click on the strip itself (instead of hunting out “next chapter” at the bottom) it leads into the “extras” section. Not necessarily a problem in itself, if continuing to click on the strips didn’t keep you going through spoiler territory, then bypassing Chapter 5 entirely before going straight to somewhere-in-Chapter 6 (not even the start of it, but rather pt 8 of the Rocket/Spectacular origin story.)
correction, middle of 5. Sorry! Still, you see my point of it being a bit disconcerting.
Yeah, I definitely see the problem. An artifact, unfortunately, of when we moved everything over to this new site. Unfortunately, with the unique chapter system and the presence of SuperFogeys Origins in the archives, I can’t recommend clicking on the comic to navigate. The buttons below are really your friend. Wish I could fix it, but it would break the whole system if I tried. Thanks for reading though, Hollow Shel!
fair enough! Thank you for replying. If you’d said it was fixable I’d volunteer to go through and make a list of all the link-discrepancies (just to save you time hunting for them yourself) but I wouldn’t want to break the site!
This is actually my second time through the archive, so I was sort of expecting this – and at least we’ve now got a comments-section notice for future readers. (…if they scroll this far down *laughs*)
