HE’S NAKED!

Ten points to whoever can remember the first time we saw a naked Captain Spectacular. Better provide a link if you wanna prove your superior intellect!

Give it up to T.L. Collins for rendering this in fine fashion. I could look at his Soviet Sam all day. Having Captain Spectacular in there too is just icing on this very delicious cake. Be sure and check out T.L.’s mythology and humor based comic, Bullfinch, when you get a chance!

HEY, WHAT ABOUT SOVIET SAM PAGE 3! DID THAT SUCKER EVER GET UPDATED WITH COLOR AND ART CORRECTIONS??

Why yes. Yes, it did.

COMING UP IN SUPERFOGEYS ORIGINS

I probably get the most pure joy from working on the SuperFogeys Origins stories, if only because I get to work with great artists on each one. I wish I could show you guys all the work that goes into each and every story. These artists work for, basically, the love of SF and the dedication they have to getting the story and art just right is humbling to me.

I don’t think anyone puts up with more of my crap than T.L. Collins (he’s drawn 38 pages of SFO so far! And more to come!). It seems like I’ve always got a change or a nitpick or something that I forgot to mention at the script stage. T.L. takes it all in stride and makes the changes without complaint. Every time.

And it’s not like he’s the exception. Every artist I’ve worked with has been that way and deserve all the credit (and linkage!) in the world. So, in the spirit of that, here’s a look at some of the upcoming stories being worked on right now…

Detail from page 1 of “Spy Gal’s Secret Mission.” Art by the creator of Watch Your Head, Cory Thomas! (If you can’t see this image, click here.)

Detail from “Harvey the Science Rabbit, Part 2” by Russ Manning Award Nominee and Stuff of Legend artist Charles P. Wilson, III! (If you can’t see this image, click here.)

Production sketch of a familiar character in a new guise (can you guess which one?) for the story “Spy Gal & Friends in Operation: C.O.W.” by Odori Parkcreator Chris Watkins! (If you can’t see this image, click here.)

Detail of layout from page 1 of “Spy Gal” by Spy Gal Origin Competition winner Lee Cherolis! (If you can’t see this image, please click here.)

Here’s hoping you guys like Spy Gal! Lots of stories with her coming up. There’s a lot more I could show you, obviously, but hopefully this little taste will do for now.

See you on Thursday with SuperFogeys 261!
