THE FRUSTRATING SILENCE OF THE WEEKLONG WAIT

Well, here we are at the halfway point of this year of once-a-week SuperFogeys updates (SuperFogeys Origins is really a different comic altogether). I want to thank you all for your patience in waiting a solid week between updates.  I know that can be frustrating, especially on a day like today when I’ve put the previous subplot on hold to launch a new one and there’s not much to chew on. This should all read great together, but taken in pieces, I bet it’s a real bummer.

For those of you that are new here, at the beginning of this year I decided to scale back the schedule for the regular SF strip to give myself some time to work on a project that’s extremely important to me. For the past 6 months now I’ve been dilligently working on a memoir about my father (not a comic) entitled “Bullets and M&M’s.”

For those of you that are not new, I hope you’ll take some small comfort in the fact that I have not been wasting my time. I’m about 45,000 words into my book (of an eventual 75,000 – 85,000) and am beginning to prepare a package to send out to publishers.  So, things are good there.

My hope is to have this book done by the end of the year, at which time I’ll put the regular SF schedule back to twice a week.  My hope is to keep doing SuperFogeys Origins as well, so please do hang in there!  Only 6 more months to go!

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Yesterday, my wife and a I celebrated our 9th Wedding Anniversary.  Like a couple of kids, we spent it at the local water park and then went for dinner and a movie afterwards.  I highly recommend marriage. It’s the most wonderful thing I’ve chosen to get myself into.

DO ME A FAVOR?

SuperFogeys needs your votes. I’ve loved Jackson Ferrell’s reviews of Chapters 1 and 2 and I’d love to see him do 3.  It’ll literally take 1 second.  Please vote here!

SPECIAL THANKS

Big thanks to Mike DeVito for the bit of coloring assist in the last panel of today’s strip. People, it looked like garbage before DeVito swooped in.  I’m telling you.

NEXT WEEK:

Tuesday finally sees the conclusion to the Society of Heroes’ origin. Definitely don’t want to miss that.  If you’ve been waiting for it to be finished before reading it, Tuesday is the day.

Then be back here on Thursday as that little girl’s mother comes over to say a few choice words to Swifty.  I’m also going to be talking more about the choice to include that little girl in this storyline. This little story with Swifty is something I’ve been waiting 2 years to tell and it’s gonna get kinda personal.
