Marc has really killed it with this strip (pun acknowledged). He reconfigured the action as scripted to be much better than what I wrote, and that allowed me to delete half the dialogue! Collaboration at its finest.

And so we say goodbye to Captain Emo. Longtime fans will recall he was a the result of a create-a-character contest, conceived and designed by a SuperFogeys fan. I made him the son of Tangerine, and he’s been popping up over and over ever since. Not so much after today, sadly. RIP.

What?! Where the trident came from? What was Captain Emo doing on the battlefield? Why Doctor Rocket was on first plane on last strip and is nowhere to see now? Why is Brock going all George R.R. Martin?! (nevertheless, great job guys)
The trident came through the portal with him. Captain Spectacular probably knocked it away from him when they first started fighting and now he’s “called” it back. Spy Gal sent everyone up north after Dictator Tot shot a rocket launcher in Alt Starbrighters face. I had to go back to check that last one.
