This is the big moment we’ve been ramping up to (and fearing) for several chapters now. Alt. Thrice Evil. On Earth-Abbadon. It doesn’t get scarier. There’s nothing holding him back now.
See you on Monday with 676 – “Jerry, Meet Thrice Evil”
The enemy of my enemy is my friend/ally. Surely Earth Abbandon Swif can put aride his hatred for Jerry just this once and work with the heroes to try to save the day, right ?
He doesn’t have to fully like Jerry, just put it all aside to try to fix his mistakes.
I mean doesn’t Swifty origins show him a bit of a slacker and doesn’t he realize that he helped screw up his own life in a way thanks to time travel/bubbles of light ?
So shouldn’t Swifty try to act like a hero and put aside differences with Jerry to overcome the threat of Thrice Evil and his army ?
You have good insight on Swifty and I would say that that’s essentially what he’s been doing this chapter–working together with Jerry. Definitely more to come with these two characters, but it’s hard to imagine a scenario in which Swifty would forgive Jerry for all he’s done.
I’m just wondering (hoping it will be addressed) how Thrice happened to know exactly where and when the portal would be opening up, down to the second. I mean, swifty didn’t even know it was going to work, and here he comes blasting through the wall at exactly the right time to fly straight through the portal…
There’s three possible explanations for the bit of logic you’re pointing out here:
1. Thrice Evil has some pre-cognitive abilities. This was actually supposed to be confirmed last chapter in a line that was cut from the script. Whether that’s still true is, I suppose, up to me.
2. There’s a traitor in their midst at the Great Hall.
3. Thrice has some way of monitoring the Shifting Chamber.
I would like to address this at some point because I HATE plot holes, but we’ll have to see how it all shakes out.
