This is it! The momentous return of SuperFogeys Origins! I wrote extensively about the whys and wherefores of the Origins’ return in this blog post right here. What I’m not sure I made totally clear is that you really have the artist of this very page to thank, Jason Williams. His recent fan art really inspired me to simply pose the question to an artist again: do you want to do something cool? That’s basically my entire approach whenever I talk to a new artist and Jason went for it! Lucky us, as you can see.
If it’s not already clear by the first panel, this story serves as a direct sequel to Spy Gal’s origin. It’s been a while, so you could do a lot worse than to refresh yourself on that story and read it again. It’s got great art by Lee Cherolis, so it’s well worth your time.
Be sure at check out more of Jason’s work at Realm of Gallimore and his artist page.
Oh hi super handcuffs. Nice to see you guys again. You dudes should get a character tag at this point.
Ha! Comment of the week.
The “cartoony” style really suits her, and I love the honked-off “Oh no, not again!” expression 🙂
I was really surprised how well Jason’s style worked for this. It really offsets the darkness in a good way.
I know it’s not terribly dark yet… wait.
YAY! SFO! I think that you nailed your evaluation on your Tuesday’s announcement: SFO is more about histories to link to the current events or the making of the characters than as tribute (although they are also great). For example, this could be a great place to know some of the more recent additions to the SF rooster, such as Raptor X who out from nowhere has gained relevance since his introduction.
Hey, thanks for mentioning that blog. I’m glad my thesis isn’t totally off and I hope I can make good on my intent with SFO going forward. Raptor X would make for a great one. Just gotta find an artist who might enjoy drawing dinosaurs…
I’m wondering whose tooth it is that is lying on the ground there. Spy Gal’s or one of her assailants’? either seems likely 😀
It’s mine, as it turns out. Really hurt when it came out.
