While this post is a bit later than usual, hopefully you guys have seen my notes under the strips saying that, yes, we are doing another Guest Strippin’ Xmas this year… provided I didn’t wait too long to tell you about it and we get enough entries!

The rules are pretty standard at this point, and you’ll find them below. This has been a good year for SF, I think, with a number of long time storylines having come to a head and some big new ones just launched. And it’s all leading to… something exceedingly cool. I saw you all fall in love with new characters (Atomic Fly) and out of love with old ones (Jerry) and I hope the fun and excitement I’ve been seeing will translate to some fun Guest Strips. You guys always crack me up with your takes on these characters and I hope you’ll just go as wild as you always do.

If you’d like to submit, here’s the specs and what you need to know:

• Submissions can be in either strip or page format. Valhalla years or SuperFogeys Origins–it’s up to you! (Just bear in mind that your stories won’t be canon.)

• Funny is good.

• Strips will run at 900 pixels across.  Please send that size or larger.  I can always scale down, but never up.

• Spy Gal naked is bad.

• Theme is up to you. We usually get some great Christmas-themed strips and I love that, but you can really do what want so long as it stays PG-appropriate. If you’re looking for a theme, how about this: The Fogeys as characters from pop and geek culture. For some reason, I really want to see that this year.

• Please include “SuperFogeys (copyright symbol) 2013 Brock Heasley” underneath the strip.

• email to: bwhheasley (at) gmail.com

• Include your name, name of your comic (if you have one) and website url (if you have one) and whatever biographical information you’d like to see posted with your strip. Promoting you is my thank you, so please make sure I have my facts straight!

 Deadline is Dec. 20th

Have at it, folks! Please ask any questions you have in the comments below.

Thanks!

I just wanna comment that I had to pick up ten books which are somehow part of my life. I put Superfogeys to the list as the only webcomic. (Wasn’t the only comic book though! Hugo Pratt’s Corto Maltese made to the list as did Emmi Nieminen’s Keskiviikko which is Finnish graphich short story about a girl and her feelings caused by her alcoholic father. Difficult subject which means lot to me.)

But why Superfogeys though? Well, I’ve read this nearly from the beginning and I’ve been commenting for quite some time so there’s that connection which I didn’t have with any other book in the list and I felt there should be one book in the list where I’ve that kind of connection with the author him or herself.

Of course there’s some storie which may have had more influence to my life but I thought it would just nice to mention your comic as it deserves recognition. And for the reasons I mentioned.

    So thank you Brock!

(Next year I try to draw something, can’t do it now even though I like to draw, but well, this was my holiday greetings to you anyway!)

Si Civa, I don’t even really know what to say. I love telling this story, I never had any ambitions that SF would be anybody’s top anything. That, really, truly means a lot. It sounds like we’re in some pretty great company.

You can see here which other stories and what I said about Superfogeys:
http://mjsaarinen.blogspot.fi/2013/12/10-books-that-touch-my-heart.html (I’ve like two writings on my blog in English and all the others are in Finnish, so no need to try to read anything else really)

And if I had made this some other day, maybe Superfogeys wouldn’t be in my list, but now it is.

Wow! There’s a list! I shared it on our Facebook page. I can’t believe we’re in that kind of company, but it’s fantastic. I don’t know what put SF over the top for you, but this is the kind of thing that makes me want to up my game. Gotta live up to it, y’know?

If I can, Brock, I would like to give you something for the holiday break. I am still reading, by the way, just don’t have the time to comment as you used to. Pretend with your imagination that I have said this or that on every page, ha ha. We all know I would be if I had the time. Meanwhile, I have actually pulled my own comic out of the Hiatus it was in. Merry Christmas Brock and Marc!
