I wish I had a lot more space to give over to Percy as I think he’s a pretty fascinating dude with some real identity issues. Hopefully, tidbits like the ones you’re getting today are enticing. I’d love to do a SuperFogeys Origin with Percy someday. I mean, with a hot, despot mom and a love of American sitcoms, what was that guy’s childhood like?
SF 500 in 2 days. 2 days! Don’t forget that we’ll be taking a brief, one week hiatus afterwards and during that week I’ll be featuring your fan art–so send it in to me right away at bwhheasley (at) gmail (dot) com. Ā
Funny. I look at this and think… that must be like being Leona Helmsley’s kid. š
Ooh… now that’s gotta be one of the all-time worst moms. C’mon, Zurida isn’t THAT bad.
Talk about your bonding moments. Still, it’s nice to see the two sons agreeing on something … Right ?
“We both agree your mom sucks.” Yeah, that’s a bonding moment.
That awkward moment when you have to tell your new best friend who rescued you from prison and tried to help you rescue your father that his mom turned your mom into a statue.
And Tom looks way too happy when he’s saying it.
The my dear friend is the line that stands in-between happiness and madness.
Also the green son might be having a moment of perspective. To him his mother was the one who raised him and ruled their planet because she was all powerful. Here he sees the horrors caused by people like his mother and those how live to dominate others. How this will affect the two of them is anyone’s guess… almost like the origin stories of Doctor Rocket and Captain when they gained their powers/knowledge. (strong but clueless, weak but vengeful.)
Tom’s mother, who has been a stone dead statue for the past some-odd decades, suddenly just walked into the room. He’s still enthralled in that moment, and probably doesn’t hear a word of what Percy just said (especially considering his expression didn’t change at all).
I like billydaking’s take. But it is no doubt awkward and Percy’s perspective–whether it’s new or not–can only be enhanced by having a brother to talk things out with.
Boy really is his father’s soon, isn’t he?
It’s the spit curl that sells it.
