I derive an unexpected amount of satisfaction from this interaction between Dr. Rocket and Captain Spectacular. Even more than the hug last week, I just love that they’re so simpatico here. Maybe this is born of my secret desire for Superman and Lex Luthor to knock back a couple of root beers and work their junk out like civilized people. Maybe, but probably not. Cap and Doc have long since transcended such analogues (in my mind, at the very least).
Marc has already begun his work on SF 500, ensuring it’s gonna be one of the biggest updates we’ve ever done. If you appreciate his work and his efforts in keeping the strip alive, I encourage you to donate the amount of his choosing via the image of Money Man below.Ā
Man, didn’t expect Cap to be this sneaky. Kind of ironic that Zurida’s bringing out his heroic (if underhanded) instincts better than anyone else could.
That’s what any spouse should do, right? Inspire us to be our very best selves.
Time for some serious redemption?
for both of them no less, coming to think about it
Redemption? We shall see…
Brock,
Have you ever read Elliot S Maggins Superman novels? If you really feel that way about Lex and Supes, you should. The way he has them interact is awesome!
I’ve read part of one of them, and it’s good stuff. Haven’t gotten to any interaction between Superman and Lex Luthor, but you make me want to get there.
Cap went from being drunk in an alley to having a plan in about an hour. That’s a superpower.
I’d say a bit more time has passed since then–somewhere between three days and a week–but your point is well taken.
That is one big mistake that every villain makes when getting rid of the competition. š
Still, it’s going to be interesting to see both good and evil working together against a greater evil/common foe for once. š
Villains NEVER get rid of the competition. They always think they can take advantage in the end. Doesn’t always work out that way.
I’m a little surprised nobody asked yet – Cap is a willing prisoner on two conditions; he told the second condition but not the first. Presumably it has something to do with Tom, but Percy could also be the one keeping Tom alive. So what is the first condition?
(not expectin Brock to answer other than a “you’ll have to wait to find out” type response)
I am also surprised it took this long for someone to comment on that! Nice work.
[…] I’ll remind everyone that when last we saw Dr. Rocket and Captain Spectacular they were major buddies hatching a plan to leave Zurida’s thrall and their imprisonment in her palace. Cap had just suffered a deeply personal loss as his son was […]
The beard really suits him. I can almost take him seriously now.
