Here’s a bit of a storytelling trick…by keeping Dr. Rocket out of the strip for several weeks (off camera–he was in the room the whole time), I make his appearance in the last panel just that much more surprising.  That’s the hope anyway.
It all seems terribly convenient, I agree.  You’re supposed to be thinking that.
