FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

‘THE SUPERFOGEYS’ WEBCOMIC LICENSED FOR GAMES

(Irving, Texas – 7/6/12) Team Frog Studios announced today they have come to an agreement with Th3rd World Studios to license The Superfogeys™, a popular webcomic, for use in games.

Created by Brock Heasley, The Superfogeys™ chronicles the lives of the world’s super-powered individuals once they move to “Valhalla, The Home for the Super Tired.” Started in 2006, The Superfogeys™ brings us 2 new episodes a week (written by Heasley and drawn by Marc LaPierre), plus a ‘Superfogeys Origins’ strip (written by Heasley and drawn by various Guest Artists) every Friday.

Residents of Valhalla include Captain Spectacular, Dr. Rocket, Star Maiden, Soviet Sam, and the lovable Space Pig. You might think they were ready to slow down after a super-powered life, but you would be wrong.

The initial release is planned to be both a sourcebook and an adventure game. As a sourcebook, it will provide additional details for all the fans of the strip as well as fill in those who find out about it for the first time through the game. And the game will be both a miniatures combat game and a role playing game. The game will be based on Team Frog’s ECS System, used to great effect in their most recent release “Super-Powered Miniatures Combat.” There has also been some preliminary work done toward a line of sculpted metal miniatures for the game as well.

“The Superfogeys™: Sourcebook & Adventure Game” should be available in time for Christmas, 2012.

The Superfogeys is a trademark of Brock Heasley. All rights reserved. The Superfogeys™ is published by Th3rd World Studios. For information, contact them at info@th3rdworld.com and www.th3rdworld.com

Very cool. Haven’t gamed since my teens, but I might have to take it up again.

That’s great news, congratulations Brock! Usually the gauge of success is when people start making porn of your characters but I think the RPG is overall less messy and disturbing.

I’m so excited, awed, and jealous that I have absolutely no idea what to even say. Except this: AWESOME.

And this: When are the action figures coming out?!? (You didn’t mention that; it’s my idea). Will they come with accessories like vials of S.P.U. and bedpans or a bowl of oatmeal with laxatives? Will Swifty have a removable walker accessory? Will Cap’s cape be made of rubber or cloth? Ooh! Later on, can we get a special edition Jerry with wheel chair and blanket, interchangeable head pieces, and clothing or rubber clothing attachments so that we can display him as either wheelchair Jerry, standing Jerry, Dr. Klein, or the Third Man? Maybe have that blue crystal and a creepy poster of Spy Gal or some roses as an accessory? We can even have different editions of the characters with different accessories, like Las Vegas Captain Spectacular packaged with a slot machine, fitting perfectly in the as-of-yet announced destructible Las Vegas play set with giant robot not included (each Las Vegas figure can come with a different piece of the robot), ha ha.

Being serious here, Brock. Think of the awesomeness. Think of the royalties. The Space Pig can have a squeezable rubber belly you can suck water up into and squirt “S.P.U.” out onto the other action figures. Don’t think wrong of me. The kids will love it, lol.

No, wait, you’re right. We’ll put the toy-line on hold until you can license your baby as an animated series, lol. 😉
