Annnnnnnd thus concludes the unexpectedly controversial origin story of Mega Matt. I, for one, really love this last page. My partner in crime, Marjorie Rishel did a fantastic job taking on the 1950s setting and some real-life figures I asked to be put in there. Thanks so much for taking this journey with me, Marjorie! It was a blast.
For those wondering or who have forgotten, the first part of this page shows us a little more of this scene from Chapter 7, “Visiting Day.” Pretty cool, huh?
Next Friday brings a new origin–“Captain Spectacular and Star Maiden in the Inevitable Dimension!” Ever wondered how Cap and Star fell in love waaaaay back when? You’re about to find out.
Bit of trivia. Rap is way older than we think it is with African chants. But the earliest recordings are from the 60’s (altho some think the 20’s)
The art style for this origin story was perfect. I loved it.
Now, let’s all move on from Mega Matt and bug Brock for more Money Man stuff until he gives him another story!
So I guess the question is…does he stay in the 50’s? If so, there’s a good chance he’s going to bump into his father one of these days, lol
You know I half way expect Matt to grow up into the ‘Rich Drunk’ that made Herman’s TV show.
I just re-read this origin set to the “real” Mega Matt’s rap song mp3. It’s … interesting. And hard to follow the panels with the speed of the song, lol
