Marc rocks the fight scene! This is one of the few times I just got smart and stepped aside and let Marc do his thing without trying to really script what he’s clearly got the instincts for.
Life is good, life is hard. I’ve done some heavy duty reflecting this past week and because I just don’t know when to keep things to myself, I wrote a blog about it. Check out “At the Crossroads and Frustrated” at your own risk.
Like I don’t know why, but those backgrounds with just colors remind me of your style in Fogeys. Granted with more shadows, but still. And I know it’s not like nobody else uses just coloured backgrounds, yet that’s how I see this.
I can see that. Marc is much more adept at background work than I ever was. I would avoiding drawing them like the plague.
Why does this remind me of an overweight and out-of-shape Popeye the Sailor man getting taken for his money? No matter, this fight with an oddly fitting end is not quite how I envisioned the first and only superfogeys fight with elderly Cap S in it so far, ha ha.
I see the Popeye. That’s funny.
My favorite panel is the one with the monkey pulling Cap’s tuft of hair.
Hey hey they’re the monkeys….. And people say they monkey around…..
I think some people lied, judging by this.
Who lied? I think I know what you mean, but I’m curious.
The same people that said monkey’s couldn’t possibly rise up against us. 0_0
Much more effective than the flying monkeys from Oz.
That’s because jetpacks are ALWAYS more effective than wings.
I was thinking more the biting.
Great fight scene, at least the monkeys aren’t flingin’ poo….yet. That one space monkey’s got a mean weapon and he looks to try to inflict some damage with it.
And you just know space monkey poo is radioactive. You just KNOW it.
I think an origin story is happening right before our eyes. Captain Spectacular gets attacked by space monkeys and becomes…Chimpin’ Space-tacular!
Lame, I know. It’s the best I could come up with.
I want to see the art on that. It’s the only way you’ll redeem yourself.
My sister told me she had a crush on Davy Jones from the Monkees. I didn’t believe her, “then I saw her face….”
Even more lame, but where else can I tell that joke?
cool colors by the way. the flying monkeys remind me of one of Captain A’s best lines in the movie: “I know that…I got that reference.”
Oh man! That was a great line. I can’t friggin’ wait to see it again. Elora is buggin’ me.
Great. you and Kirk take the girls while the rest of us play at home.
That could be a lot of fun. Don’t know when we’re going yet, but I’ll keep it in mind.
I mean, this is just awesome.
When I was little and first saw the Wizard of Oz, the flying monkeys scared me. So when I’d run around playing afterward, I’d yell out, “The monkeys are coming, the monkeys are coming!” I’m sure at the time, it was totally adorable.
But anyway, my point is this: those monkeys CAME!
You’re welcome. Fulfilling childhood dreams and nightmares. That’s what we do here at SuperFogeys Central.
How times change. About a month ago we rented Wizard of Oz becasue my 7 yr old son had never seen it. He asked no less than 10 times when it was going to be over and if we could watch something else.
Everyone is always trying to bite Cap’s head!
Ha! I sorely missed your contribution to the last Guest Strippin’ Xmas.
Maybe next time. I feel like I missed Christmas this year. My internal clock hates my new work shift.
