Wait… wait… does that mean Harvey is a… ?
Big thanks to artist Chip Skelton for making this page sing. I just love, love, love the pacing and that killer final panel. Nice work, my friend.

THAT is what you call a ‘rabbit punch’. š
Oh, yes. And a slash!
…Okay…this explained the whole “I’ll let Harvey feast on your eyes” thing…creepy…
But Dr. Rocket looks so happy here…also a bit creepy…
Good memory!
Abso-zombie-lutely loving this š Great job, Chip!
So Harvey is a Zombunny?! Well that’s one way to make him immortal I guess! *lol*
Hey, it’s maybe the worst kind of immortality, but it does work!
I had thought that Harvey would have to be one old rabbit.
My earlier theories were that Dr. Rocket calls all his rabbits “Harvey” or else the real Harvey died and the current Harvey is only a figment of the Doctor’s imagination.
I thought about going in one of those directions with Harvey, but I figured this would be more interesting.
This…is not at all what I expected. But it totally blows everything else out of the water. Harvey the Science Rabbit is a zombie!!
And, I mean, it makes sense that Jimmy didn’t see what he was biting into. No one ever acknowledges Harvey.
Very nice piece.
Thanks, man! Glad you didn’t see it coming. Doesn’t seem as though anyone did!
Well, that explains where Johnny went to. Looks like SuperFogey zombies work opposite to conventional ones.
Hey, my universe, my rules. Right? I don’t there’s anything hard and fast about zombies.
Dude, crazy stuff! But why a zombie bunny? I honestly never even pondered why Harvey has been around since forever. I guess I’m used to ages and mortality for some characters being thrown out the window for some characters, especially anthropomorphic. That and it wasn’t until SFO’s Harvey part 1 that I even knew Harvey was so old. I guess since he’s called the Science Rabbit that I was not expecting a zombie but instead expecting Harvey had lived so long because, well, Doc Roc had, I dunno, augmented him with … SCIENCE!! That was an excited “science!” not a “can’t believe you used the paranormal–science!!” by the way, ha ha. Was expecting Doc to use science.
There had to be some explanation for Harvey’s longevity just because time does pass in the SF universe. Couldn’t leave that unexplained forever. As for why he’s called a “Science Rabbit”… that’s more learning and association than nature. That was my idea anyway.
Cool. But I wonder what inspired you to create zombies to be like this within the SF universe? I mean, why they hate each other instead of mindlessly work together to search for – dare I say it? – braaaaaaaaaaaiiiinnnsssss. I like how Johnny Go Dead is not mindless and can talk though. Something charming about him being from the 40’s or 50’s and eating popcorn.
Of course, I mean no association between the 40’s and 50’s and eating popcorn, but simply that he is from somewhere in that time period which is cool, oh and there’s something charming about him eating popcorn instead of brains while talking about a zombie flick he just saw.
I love the story elements here. Dr. Rocket is truly evil, yet he feels what appears to be true compassion and love for this “cute” little bunny. I assume he was trying to give his bunny immortality or some sort of bionic power and failed. The idea that even the most evil of characters can feel love, and that one source of that love is that the bunny is also truly evil, that is great storytelling. I mean, good storytellers give the bad guy a human side. However, I have never heard of anyone using evil as the basis for that humanity….. does that make sense? I mean, the bad guy is often shown as good to make him seem more human. Dr. Rocket’s pure evil is being used in a way to show his humanity in this case. It is intense and fresh.
Wow, thanks! You correctly identify why I introduced Harvey in the first place, but you’re right–their relationship is a bit unusual!
