The super-prison in the first panel is loosely based on the design of the Hall of Justice from the old Superfriends cartoon show.  I don’t have a good reason for this other than it’s a design that always stuck with me and seemed strong enough to house all the wonderful bad guys that must be in there.  Sticking on the side of a mountains just seems logical if you’re going for something impregnable.

Dictator Tot is a character name I got from longtime a SuperFogeys reader who goes by the handle Punk Rebel Mama.  The name came to her in a fit of inspiration as she was thinking about her daughter, DD, and all the trouble she is/gets into.  It didn’t take me too long to match up the idea with my own daughter, Elora.

Dictator Tot is the spitting image of Elora at the age of 3 (she’s a few weeks shy of her fifth birthday as I write this).  Not only that, but her disposition, interests, and sly sweetness are all taken directly from her as well.  For her costume, my idea was simple: Chairman Mao crossed with a princess.  It doesn’t get any more direct than that.

Bringing her to Valhalla is going to be a lot of fun.  Expect her to stay for the duration of Chapter 3.
