Hey everybody, been a while, no? Recently, there have been pleadings. What’s going on? When are you guys coming back? Sweet Satan’s Soulpatch, give us SOMETHING!
We hear you, we hear you. The truth is Marc and I have been working hard. Chapter 20 is all mapped out and partially scripted and drawn.
The other truth is that we’ve been taking it a bit easy and not working at quite our usual pace. I think this was much needed. After years of working like crazy to turn out two strips a week, we just needed to recharge.
But we’re done with that now and I’m pleased to announce that, barring disaster, SuperFogeys will be returning June, 2015 on a 5-day-a-week schedule for 8 solid weeks in the Summer! We’ve never done something like this before and we hope you’ll enjoy reading the next, (hopefully) great chapter in this saga at an accelerated pace.
That’s all I’ve got to report at the moment. I hope to be more communicative in the next few months as we get closer to June. For now, he’s a look at some of the fine work Marc has been doing behind the scenes:

Hey, thanks for the update, Brock! Looking forward to the big return. Beautiful work, Marc!
You bet, Michael! Thanks for keeping the faith!
I am glad to see you and this site again. How’s the job situation? You know, the two of you and me startde to jobhunt around te same time. I gave me a funny and probably uncalled for feeling of conection. ^^
Connection is cool. That’s what the internet is all about.
My job situation is much better–and crazier–than it was. My personal blog at brockheasley.com is the best place to see what’s going on there. This is the most relevant post: http://brockheasley.com/2015/02/17/my-wife-and-i-lost-our-jobs-six-months-later-we-discover-the-next-step/
Thanks for asking!
Have been missing the superfogeys.
Hate and love that.
You guys are simply amazing. I can’t wait!
Thanks, Heidi!
Yay, great news! Also, any news on the patreon thing?
My plan still is to fire up Patreon upon our return. Should see more news on that around that time. It’s a lot of work to get started, but I know it will be worth it.
Thank you!
You bet, George!
I’m glad you two are working hard, yet not too hard to prevent burnout. But are you sure you want to push all that out daily? You’ll burn right through the buffer at that pace, and then there will be another long hiatus. Wouldn’t it be wiser to keep to a twice a week or less schedule, so you can make it till Christmas?
The big reason we’re changing up how we release the strips is to prevent burnout. I see what you’re saying about making the buffer last as long as possible, but there’s something really exciting about a more compacted experience. I think also, just for Marc’s sake, moving to a seasonal schedule puts more of a button on each chapter, breaking the whole endeavor of wrapping up SuperFogeys into manageable chunks. This is preferable to the massive slog that is the hundreds of strips that are still ahead of us.
But who knows, we could completely change our minds when this next chapter is all over. I really don’t know. For now, we want to try this. I know as a reader it will be more frustrating, but man… what a summer we’re all gonna have, right?
Ah I see, so we’re aiming for whole chapter releases, possibly once to twice a year. That would be rough on the readers, but it would make things much more manageable on Marc’s side, giving you two ample room for revisions, sick days, vacation, convention time, printing deadlines. That’ll work. Thank you both for all you do. I really enjoy your stories!
Looks great.
PS: are you going to put up some more Issues of Superfogeys up on Comixology soon? Pretty please.
Hey Bruce, sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Yes! Within the next few weeks you should be seeing four new issues up on Comixology. I’ll be sure and announce it and make a big stink about it when it happens. Thank you for your patience!
Really glad to hear the Fogeys won’t go gentle into that good night, and I am looking forward to reading your saga!
